Horses for Causes Racing Club

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Horses for Causes Racing Club Limited ('the club') is established with the prime aim of providing its members with the excitement and sociability of a close involvement in racehorse ownership. Whilst proprietary rights to the horses will remain at all times with the club, certain benefits will be conferred to subscribers during their period of membership. The horseracing industry is unpredictable and membership of the club does not offer an investment opportunity.
- Membership Benefits include:
- The pleasure of following each of the club's horses and also those owned by associated syndicates.
- A share of any prize money won by the club's horses subject to the conditions set out herein.
- As a general rule the proceeds of any sale will be reinvested in new horses with a view to increasing and upgrading the club's stock but in the event that any particular horse proves exceptionally good, at the discretion of the club's management, a dividend on the profit on any club horse which is sold for a much greater sum than its original purchase price, (as published on the club's website), may be paid ex-gratia to fully subscribed members at the time of the sale who have been continuous members since the date when the specific horse was purchased. The club's management strongly believe that if the club is fortunate enough to acquire a horse who wins a Group race, for example, and therefore becomes a valuable commodity, the loyal members should benefit.
- Organised visits to the stables and gallops of trainers employed by the club.
- Receipt of regular Newsletters, email correspondence and telephone access to updates on the welfare and progress, racing programme and entries for the club's horses.
- When the club has a runner complimentary Owners Badges will be available to six or more members and these will be allocated on request to those wishing to attend on a rotational basis. The club will endeavour to additionally arrange discounted 'Members Enclosure' badges to all other club subscribers on 'race-days'.
- Access by password to the members' section of the Horses for Causes website. www.horsesforcauses.com
- A club logo lapel pin
- Hospitality events, lunches and/or dinners at cost.
- Membership shall be for a period of 12 months from the date of joining and there will be no obligation to renew membership thereafter but a discount will be offered to any member who decides to do so.
- The net prize money won (paid to the club by Weatherbys) by the club's horses will be shared between the membership as it existed at the time when the specific race took place (subject to clause 6 below). There will be a deduction to cover travel and incidental expenses from such prize money won in any race that takes place outside the United Kingdom, or from a race that has incurred an entry fee in excess of £250.
- All decisions relating to the club's horses (including entries, jockeys, trainers, and administration) will be solely vested in the club's racing manager.
- All benefits and privileges of membership of the club are personal to the named member and may not be gifted, transferred, sold or loaned under any circumstances to a third party.
- The club will donate £50 from each subscription received and 10% of net prize money won to the charity of its choice, which will be notified to members at the time of joining.
- No specific guarantees can be made but it is intended that as membership grows and subscriptions are received, more horses, both flat and National Hunt will be purchased for the pleasure and benefit of club members.
- The name 'Horses for Causes' and the club logo are registered trade marks.
