Horses for Causes - supporting charities through racehorse ownership

Giving and living the dream

Horses for Causes (H4C) is an innovative racehorse ownership scheme seeking to raise substantial sums for worthy causes whilst offering its subscribers the sociability and unique thrill of close involvement in the 'sport of kings'. While we can't guarantee that our horses will be successful, we're confident that all those involved will have a lot of fun in the company of like-minded individuals.

How does it benefit charity?

Each of our horses runs in the name of a particular charity, but for the current turf and all-weather season the following arrangement is in place. Ten percent of prize money earned by all H4C horses (and, in the event of the sale of a horse, 10% of the eventual resale value) will be placed into a dedicated high interest account at Weatherbys Bank. This will form a central charity fund, to be distributed equally between our nominated charities at the end of the 2007 Flat season. If one or more of the horses proves to be very useful, all the charities will benefit equally in terms of money earned.

Our nominated charities will also benefit from enhanced media exposure and promotion of their work through the running of their named horses, and H4C also provides invaluable networking opportunities within the convivial environment that is the Owners and Trainers enclosure.

H4C will also arrange charity fundraising initiatives and events throughout the season.
