Bella Rowena fourth at Glorious Goodwood

Bella Rowena31 July 2008

Bella Rowena defied odds of 66/1 to finish fourth in an above-average maiden at Glorious Goodwood today.

The daughter of Kyllachy broke well under Franny Norton and set the pace for much of the race. She was headed two furlongs out, but kept on well in the closing stages to book her place at the 4th pole in the winner's enclosure.

The first two fillies home are well-regarded by their connections, and it's hoped that Bella Rowena can step up again on this promising effort.

Kiss Chase got off the mark at Brighton today when romping home by four lengths at a handy price of 14/1!

Our son of Val Royal benefitted from the good to soft ground and from the application of blinkers for the first time, and his confidence should see a boost from the win.
