A familiar face to viewers of the BBC's racing coverage, Clare is a noted presenter and journalist across a diverse range of sports on the BBC, having fronted broadcasts including Wimbledon, the Olympics and Rugby League.

Clare also became the first ever woman to win the Racing Journalist of the Year Award.

Clare's family connections to racing include her father Ian Balding, who trained Mill Reef to win the Derby, St Leger and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Her brother Andrew trains a string of horses from his yard near Newbury.
